NESCol Curriculum Offer 2022-23

Pupils in S3-S6 who are interested in undertaking a NESCol Schools Links course as part of their S4-S6 curriculum should complete the survey giving a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice from the listed courses by the end of November. Guidance Teachers will discuss this as part of PSE classes. This will allow NESCol, Aberdeen City Council and Northfield Academy to gain an early idea of where course demand will be so that course choices can be matched to demand (where possible) to allow as many pupils as possible to follow their preferred pathway to a positive destination.

Aberdeen Virtual School– Drop In sessions

Wednesday 27th October 1.30-2.30pm

Tuesday 23rd November 4-5pm

Wednesday 12th January 5-6pm

  • What is the Virtual School?
  • What kind of support can be provided for parents, carers, children and young people and professionals ?
  • How is the support accessed?

These and other questions will be answered by Larissa (Virtual School Head Teacher) or Elaine (Virtual School Education Support Officer).  Larissa or Elaine will be available on Microsoft Teams at the times noted. Although this will be an opportunity for general information sharing and discussion, if you would like to speak about support for an individual child or young person who is Looked After or Previously Looked After, please email Larissa Gordon LaGordon@aberdeencity.gov.uk or Elaine Law ElaLaw@aberdeencity.gov.uk in the first instance.  An e-mail reminder will be sent out the Monday prior to the drop-in session. Anyone wishing to participate should respond by lunchtime the day before the Drop In to:

BusinessServices2@aberdeencity.gov.uk or register through Eventbrite.

An invite will then be sent to join the meeting. A leaflet about the Virtual School  is attached to this memo and will be sent again with the ‘Drop-In’ reminder e-mail on the Monday. The leaflet may answer some of your questions but may also raise new ones?

The Drop-Ins are open to parents, carers, schools , social work and partner organisations as well as anyone who has an interest in finding out more about what we do.
